Optimus Prime & The Autobots at the Manila International Auto Show!

04.16.2010 - If you haven't been to this year's Manila International Auto Show you must be stuck in a cave, and just raving about the toys you had recently acquired. One of the few true Transfans must be ecstatic about this year's car show. Vince Nunez our man was at the MIAS 2010 event with fellow bloggers, who made a coverage and was making everyone envious when he spotted Bumblebee at the Chevrolet display minus the racing stripes.

He also saw a Generation One Autobot named Jazz parked at the extended custom display section all white with those exact racing stickers. There where a lot of cars on display as well as hot babes standing by for a photo op.

Most notable cars on the show room floor are the Chevy Camaro, Ford GT40 (Binaltech Rodimus), and the Porsche (G1 Jazz). Subaru has the latest Impreza but its no longer familiar as the 2003 model, that looked like Silverstreak.

Cars and babes mix altogether plus thrown in some true blue TransFans then you got yourselves a kick as meet-up. This year's theme is Taking Motorists Into the Future and definitely this show is not only for TransFans, but as well as those who has the affinity and love for cars.

Addressing that need is the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), an annual venue for car buyers and enthusiasts to take a closer look at the latest models and significant concepts from the Philippines’ premiere auto makers. The 2010 show is scheduled from 15 to 18 April at the World Trade Center, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City. Manila Auto Show’s sixth year is expected to fortify its standing as the most all-embracing auto show in the country with this year’s theme: “Crossing Boundaries.”

The MIAS is the best venue to get good deals while looking for the ideal car, a convenient venue where people can immediately compare and contrast their prospective purchases. Exclusive auto loans sponsor PS Bank will offer some of the best deals for car buyers who want to purchase their new vehicles on the show floor. An annual venue for car buyers and motoring enthusiasts, it also hosts separate competitions for custom and classic cars as well as custom and classic motorbikes. MIAS is the Philippines’ biggest motor show in terms of visitor count, cars on display, and exhibitors – a world automotive exhibition held every summer since 2005. If it runs on diesel, gasoline, unleaded, biofuel, electricity or even a hybrid --it’s sure to be there.

It also serves as an educational venue for children interested in the workings of automobiles –and parents who are auto enthusiasts often take them to see Russ Swift, a precision driver known for his tight J-turns and meticulously planned stunts. The second-generation solar car produced by DLSU (SIKAT) is also on display, along with other noteworthy exhibits: vintage vehicles, 20 to 25 big bikes on display, a party van/bus, classic and new-generation Mini Coopers and Chevrolet’s Cruze Touring Car. There will be the MIAS Custom and Classic Car competition where the Best of Show winner gets tickets for two to go watch the Malaysian Formula 1. There will also be a custom bike competition, as well as a photo competition by Nikon.

So if you got nothing to do this weekend come drop by the Wold Trade Center. Entrance fee is only PhP50.00 pesos and you get to see Optimus Prime too.
